Meals on Wheels® is an essential service which supports older Australians, people living with disability and the disadvantaged to live independently and healthily.  We operate throughout rural, regional and metropolitan Australia, through a network of 592 services, supported by an incredible 76,000 volunteers

Eating well is an important aspect to people staying healthy and independent. There's a lot of evidence to show that eating well and regularly is a great way to prevent health issues. 

Our nourishing meals are delivered to the door with kindness, respect and consideration through Meals on Wheels volunteers.

The volunteers provide a wellbeing check for the people we support, including a friendly smile upon each and every delivery.  Our deliverers check that our customers are safe and well.  If a customer is found unwell or in a poor state, a family member or friend will be notified, and if needed, an ambulance will be called.  This provides peace of mind all round.

For some of our customers, our deliverers might be the only people they see that day.  It is a valued and important aspect of how we build connections.

Our support enhances lifestyles through: 

  • the delivery of nourishing meals to maintain health and wellbeing; 
  • offering social contact; and 
  • recognising, responding and building people’s capacity to meet nutritional and other needs that increase wellbeing.

Lifeline is a national charity providing all Australians experiencing a personal crisis with access to 24 hour crisis support and suicide prevention services.

Lifeline exists so that no person in Australia should have to face their darkest moments alone. We have a long history of supporting people through crisis, through various channels that include telephone, text, online chat and community-based services.

At this present time, Australians are turning to Lifeline in record numbers as they grapple with COVID-19 on the back of the summer's bushfire devastation. Lifeline is experiencing  the highest ever calls in their 6-decade history, every call is an emergency. Answering every call is crucial.
