Jim Mullan

CEO of Second Bite

"SecondBite is a national food rescue and relief organisation that redistributes edible, nutritious food, free of charge, to local charities and not-for-profits right around Australia. These groups run food programs to support people in need in their communities. The organisations we provide food to make a real difference to people’s lives, providing more than just a meal- they provide support, hope and friendship to those doing it tough.

The start of 2020 has brought devastation and loss for many Australians. The bushfires and now the unfolding fallout from COVID-19 has seen a significant rise in the demand for food relief. As we move into Winter – a time that can be very challenging for the most vulnerable in our community – your contribution will help us to continue to ensure that good food is getting to those who need it most.

For every $1 you contribute, SecondBite is able to provide enough food for 5 meals."

Sharyn Broer

CEO of Meals On Wheels Australia

Meals on Wheels® is an essential service which supports older Australians, people living with disability and the disadvantaged to live independently and healthily.  We operate throughout rural, regional and metropolitan Australia, through a network of 592 services, supported by an incredible 76,000 volunteers

Eating well is an important aspect to people staying healthy and independent. There's a lot of evidence to show that eating well and regularly is a great way to prevent health issues.

Our nourishing meals are delivered to the door with kindness, respect and consideration through Meals on Wheels volunteers.

The volunteers provide a wellbeing check for the people we support, including a friendly smile upon each and every delivery.  Our deliverers check that our customers are safe and well.  If a customer is found unwell or in a poor state, a family member or friend will be notified, and if needed, an ambulance will be called.  This provides peace of mind all round.

For some of our customers, our deliverers might be the only people they see that day.  It is a valued and important aspect of how we build connections.

Our support enhances lifestyles through:

  • the delivery of nourishing meals to maintain health and wellbeing;
  • offering social contact; and
  • recognising, responding and building people’s capacity to meet nutritional and other needs that increase wellbeing.

In providing these services through our volunteer workforce we strengthen communities
